Tetrahedron introduces an advanced lifting crane specifically designed for installing and maintaining the latest generation of offshore wind turbines. With a patented design, the Tetrahedron crane achieves greater lifting heights than conventional cranes, all without requiring a completely new jack-up vessel.
Key Features
• Extended Lifting Capacity: The unique design enables the crane to reach up to 130 meters, essential for the installation of modern, larger wind turbines.
• Existing Vessel Integration: The Tetrahedron crane can be integrated onto existing jack-up vessels, for the offshore wind maintenance activities such as blade swaps and component exchanges.
• Innovative Structure: The crane’s tetrahedral structure provides strength and stability, ensuring efficiency and safety during lifting operations.
Recent Developments:
Supported by the RVO TSE-HER+ program and in collaboration with partners such as Jack-Up Barge BV, TNO, Shell and GE, Tetrahedron has developed a 130-meter-high prototype crane, currently located at the Dutch Offshore Contractors’ yard in Vlissingen. This prototype will be used to test and validate the crane’s structural behaviour, showcasing to the wind industry, it’s capability to achieve greater lifting heights than conventional cranes.
